RE.AL.E. C3 alloy and recycled thermal break bars for a low-impact supply chain
At METRA Building, sustainability is not a goal to be achieved but a daily practice that permeates every stage of production. It is a guiding principle that translates into measurable technical choices, rigorously selected materials, and constant attention to environmental impact.
In 2025, this commitment was further strengthened through two tangible initiatives, already in operation, that redefine the relationship between raw materials and responsibility.
RE.AL.E. C3 alloy profiles: raw material takes on a new face
As of January 2025, unless otherwise specified when ordering, every METRA Building profile is made with RE.AL.E. C3 alloy, composed of at least 60% recycled aluminium.
This alloy retains all the technical properties of traditional aluminium—strength, durability, and workability—while offering a significantly reduced environmental footprint.
A material that does not originate anew, but is reborn, transforming what once was into new architectural potential, in perfect harmony between innovation and circularity.
Behind this decision lies a clear vision: to reduce environmental impact starting at the source—the raw material. The RE.AL.E. C3 alloy embodies this approach, meeting the most stringent technical requirements while also aligning with the growing demand for traceable, sustainable construction materials.
Recycled polymer thermal break bars: invisible sustainability, real value
Starting March 2025, the polyamide bars used in thermal break profiles are also made from recycled material.
This marks a significant shift involving a technical component that is often unseen but essential to the thermal performance of the frame.
All characteristics remain unchanged: same workability, thermal and structural behavior, and geometric compatibility.
What changes is the origin of the material, now derived from a highly controlled and certified recycling process.
This results in a significant reduction in fossil resource use and emissions generated during the polymer production stage, contributing tangibly to the environmental footprint of the entire system.
Through these measures, METRA Building reinforces a sustainability approach that goes beyond statements—an approach made up of concrete, traceable actions, embedded in every phase of the production chain.
A commitment that begins with the material, extends to technical details, and is reflected in systems designed to last, evolve, and reduce environmental impact.
This is how a truly responsible supply chain is built: solid in results, consistent in purpose.
